Make-A-Wish® Northeast New York to Kick Off Adopt-A-Wish Holiday Campaign

Holiday Fundraiser Marks its 30th Year, and the 35 Years of the Chapter Granting Wishes; Volunteers Needed

Guilderland, NY — The annual Adopt-A-Wish Holiday Campaign, Make-A-Wish Northeast New York’s longest-running fundraiser throughout the 15 counties we serve, kicks off on Thursday, November 17, featuring many of its familiar elements and returning Presenting Sponsor NYSCOPBA. Plug and Teamsters Local 294 join the campaign as the Star Sponsors.

This campaign will mark the chapter’s 35 years of wish granting.

This year, stars featuring wish kid ambassadors — six from the Greater Capital Region and two from the North Country — will be sold for a single suggested donation amount of $5 per star.

The campaign will officially begin with a kickoff at 5 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 17th at Crossgates, and will run through the holidays. Supporters can donate and volunteers can apply at adoptawishneny.org.

“The Adopt-A-Wish Holiday Campaign has thrived into its fourth decade thanks to the generosity of the community we serve, from Columbia and Greene counties to Cobleskill through the Capital Region all the way to the North Country,” Make-A-Wish Northeast New York CEO William C.

Trigg, III, said.

Stars will be available at Crossgates and other various businesses and schools throughout the chapter region.

This campaign is made possible by the hundreds of volunteers throughout the chapter who generously donate their time to staff our booths. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit adoptawishneny.org and click on the volunteer link, or contact Director of Development Jaymee Keller at [email protected] or 518-456-9474.
